Account action

Delete your account

Request permanent deletion of your VerseUp account and the data attached to it.

What gets deleted

When you delete your account, we permanently remove:

  • Your account record (email, username, display name, hashed password or social-sign-in identifier)
  • Your learning progress (verses mastered, retention tiers, streak, XP, exercise attempts)
  • Collections and lessons you created, including any verses you added
  • Notification preferences, primary collection, leaderboard visibility, voice settings
  • Friend connections and friend requests
  • Push notification tokens registered to your account

This action is permanent

Once your account is deleted, it cannot be recovered. Custom collections you authored will be removed for everyone enrolled in them. Aggregate, anonymized records that no longer identify you (e.g. an XP total that contributed to last month's leaderboard) may remain in our analytics.

How to request deletion

For your protection we ask you to send the request from the email address tied to your account. We verify the sender matches before we touch any data.

Why the email step?

It prevents someone else from deleting your account by knowing your username. Sending from the account email is a one-step proof of ownership that works without requiring you to log in (useful if you've lost access).

Before you go

If you're leaving because of a bug, a missing feature, or something that didn't work for you — we'd genuinely love to hear it. A quick note to verseup-support@benlottejnr.org goes a long way toward making VerseUp better for the next person.
