How to Delete Your Account

You can request account deletion using either of the following methods:

In-App (Recommended)

Open VerseUp, go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. Follow the on-screen confirmation prompts to submit your deletion request.

By Email

Send an email to account-deletion.verseup@benlottejnr.org from the email address associated with your account. Include your username or registered email so we can locate your account.

What Happens When You Delete

Once we process your deletion request, the following data will be permanently deleted:

Your account credentials (name, email, password hash)
Your learning progress (exercise attempts, lesson completions, XP, streaks)
Your profile information
Any verses or content you added to the App
Your subscription status (note: you must cancel your subscription separately through your app store)

Important: Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. All your progress, XP, streaks, and saved content will be lost. If you have an active subscription, please cancel it through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store before requesting deletion to avoid further charges.

What We May Retain

After deletion, we may retain anonymised, non-personally-identifiable analytics data (such as aggregate usage statistics) that cannot be linked back to you. This helps us understand overall usage patterns and improve the App.

Processing Time

Account deletion requests are processed within 10 working days. You will receive a confirmation email once your account and data have been deleted.
